Kolar: With rumours spreading that poultry is the main carrier of the dreaded coronavirus, a few people have resorted to killing as many as 9,000 chickens in Kolar.

The incident took place at a village named Magondi in Bangarapete taluk.

Over the last few weeks, people have been abstaining from consuming chicken as they believe that eating the meat may lead to the coronavirus infection. Due to this, the cost of chicken had slipped drastically.

Frustrated by the loss and fear that poultry may spread the infection, a farmer named Hemanth killed 9,000 chickens in his poultry farm.
