Kolar :A minor girl was allegedly gangraped by four youths at Kuppur in the taluk on Saturday afternoon.
A complaint was registered by the mother of the girl at the Masti police station on Wednesday.
The suspects identified as Krishna, 22, Anil Kumar, 24, Narayanaswamy, 21, and Munikrishna, 25, hail from the same village and are absconding.
The class X?student was returning home from school when the youths took her to the Kuppur lake bed through a grove by the roadside and raped her.
The girl had been threatened that she would be murdered if she reported the incident to anyone, she told the police. She did not inform anyone ab out the incident and tried to hang herself to death in her house on Sunday.
The incident came to light on Wednesday.
The victim has been admitted to the government hospital in the town for treatment. The police said that they are on the lookout for the accused.
