Bengaluru: The Kolar district administration has banned all kinds of public Ganeshotsava events and has instead urged the people to celebrate the festival by installing mud Ganesh idols at their homes.
DC C Sathyabhama informed that as per the government directions, the festival shall be celebrated at the household levels only and not as a public event. No permission will be given for public Ganesha pendals.
She also made it clear that no arrangements will be made to transport and immerse the Ganesha idols.
“The public shall support this initiative. We shall work together to contain the spread of the Covid-19,” she said.
