Kasargod: The Crime Branch police have nabbed two more accused here on Wednesday, May 1, in the Youth Congress party workers Krupesh and Sharath Lal murder case.

The accused are Pradeep (38) and Mani (32).

As per the information availed by the investigation team, the eighth accused Subeesh has absconded to a foreign country.

It is confirmed by the investigating officials that Pradeep was the one who had planned the murder of the duo.

They said that fugitive Subeesh had helped the murderers to get fresh clothes after committing the murder and that Mani had helped them escape to Communist Party of India (Marxist) Uduma zonal office.

On April 23, when Mani, who went missing after the murder case, had come to a polling booth to vote, some of the Congress party workers had clicked his photograph and sent it to the investigative officers. This had helped in nabbing Mani as well as Pradeep.

Youth Congress party workers Kripesh and Sharath Lal were brutally murdered this year on February 12 night, when they were travelling back home to Periya.

In this connection, CPI (M) leader Pitambaran including nine others were arrested.

With the arrest of Mani and Pradeep, the arrest count has increased to 11.
