Kasargod: Three persons from Kasargod lost their lives in a gruesome road mishap that took place at Guddemaranahalli Handpost, at Magadi Taluk here, during wee hours of Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Kishan (35), Monappa (40) and Akshay (40), all residents of Manjeshwar in Kasargod.
Meanwhile, Raghavendra and Chandrashekar have sustained severe injuries. The identity of one more passenger and the driver has not yet been confirmed.
They have been rushed to Victoria Hospital. The incident took place when the car in which they were plying hit an electric pole, killing three on the spot.
They were all returning after completing Sabarimala darshan. It is said that the driver of the car dozed off leading to the accident.
There were seven members in the car including the driver. Kuduru police rushed to the spot.
