Kasargod: Member of Parliament Rajmohan Unnithan, who was on a 24-hour hunger strike to condemn the bad condition of National Highway 66, ended his fast here on Saturday, September 21.
“The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officers have invited me for a meeting on September,” he explained.
Unnithan had begun his protest on Friday at 9 AM against the NHAI’s failure to repair NH66 and other roads between Talapady-Kasargod.
The hunger strike was flagged-off by Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala.
MP Unnithan has warned the officials saying, “If the meeting with the NHAI officials doesn’t pay off, I will stage an indefinite protest.”
It can be recalled that yesterday, during the demonstration, he had warned that the protest could turn unpredictable if the officials did not respond to the demands.
