Police arrest 2 in illegal weapons case

Kasargod: The police have arrested two persons and confiscated an illegally owned gun from them in Chembarika near Melparamba here.

The accused are Mohammed Sali (28), son of Shafi and M M Shamseer (23), both from Chembarika.

Acting swiftly on a tip-off from reliable sources, the Bekal police arrested the duo and seized the illegal weapon from Shamsher’s house.

When shamseer was interrogated, he revealed the names of a few others who were involved in the case, said the police.
The police said that during the interrogation Shamseer has revealed that Soan alias Thasleem from Chemabarika had given him the gun.

Thasleem was earlier taken into custody by the NIA and interrogated. Thasleem was recently arrested by Bekal police regarding some other warrant case.

The police have confirmed that a few others were also involved in the case.
