Kasargod: A resident of Kumble was killed and two others were seriously injured in an accident between a KSRTC bus and car on Monday night.
The injured have been admitted to Mangalore Hospital with serious injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Ali (32) of Arikkady, Kumble. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru. Both are the passengers in the car and the car has been mangled completely. Five bus passengers have escaped with minor injuries.
The accident occurred between the bus moving from Neeleswaram and the car moving from Kumble to Kannur. Upon hearing the news of the accident, firefighters, police and civilians helped remove injured from the vehicles and assisting them to be taken to the hospital. In the wake of the accident, traffic on National Highway was disrupted for over an hour.
Hosadurga police arrived at the spot and are conducting further investigations.
