DairyFarmerRaveendranKasargod: Ravindran, a resident of Kodakkad village here, is known for his love for cows. The 55-year-old whose prime occupation is dairy farming, has set an example for the job seekers.

Ravindran owns eight cows and earns Rs 50,000 per month in milk production alone. People buy cow dung from him which he sells at Rs 50 per basket. He says that he sells a minimum of 90 baskets in a month.

Ravindran grows organic vegetables in his backyard, for which he uses the cow dung as manure. The Dairy Development Department provides all types of assistance to Ravidran for dairy farming.

Ravindran is interested in dairy farming from a very young age as he was born and raised in a family with the same background. As a child, he would take the cows for grazing before and after school. This helped him understand the behaviour and temperament of the cows.

Ravindran says that he is financially well to do because of dairy farming and is leading a happy life. “A beautiful house, all the necessities for the family, son’s education, good healthcare, all these come from dairy farming and caring for the cows,” says a satisfied Ravindran.
