Kasargod: A car with fake registration transporting liquor illegally has been seized by the Kumble Police here on Monday, September 9.
According to the police, they received credible information and were inspecting the vehicles on the national highway at Bandyodu in search of the particular car. When they tried to stop a car for inspection, it sped away and bypassed the checking process. However, it rammed into five other vehicles during its bid to get away.
The police immediately chased down the car and when they reached Baikatte of Bambarana, the driver ditched the car and fled from the spot.
When the police inspected the car, they found 1,772 liquor bottles packed in 31 boxes.
The police have begun a search operation for the culprit.
