Kasargod: Five Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses have been sent by the Kerala government to Mangaluru with police protection, to bring back stranded Kerala students, said Kasargod Deputy Commissioner D Sajith Babu.

According to a report by ANI, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan directed the officials to make arrangements to bring the students back to Kerala. The directive comes in the wake of protests and a curfew in Mangaluru city.

It can be recalled that journalists from Kerala were detained by the Managluru police. They were later released after the Kerala CM wrote to his counterpart in Karnataka, asking for their release.
