Indian ship in Indonesian Navy custody since five months-1Kasargod: About 22 Indians including the residents of Kasargod have reportedly been nabbed by the Indonesian Navy for violating the maritime borders and their ship seized.

P K Musa Kunhi from Parekatte of Uppala and Kalandar from Arikkadi of Kumble are among the crew members nabbed. The seized goods ship M T Pegasus which had left from Mumbai in March to Singapore was caught violating the Indonesian sea border.

Some technical issues arose in the ship transporting chemical substances and it moved in the opposite direction towards Indonesian seashore, it is said.

Indian ship in Indonesian Navy custody since five months-2Though the ship has been in Indonesian Navy's custody for four months, the incident has come to light only now. Food, water and medicines have exhausted in the ship according to the information provided by detainee Musa Kunhi to his relatives.

The three rounds of talks held with the Indian Embassy to get the ship released have gone in vain, it is said. Though the crew members have contacted the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, there is a delay in release, reportedly. The matter has been in court for a few days but the situation of the crew members is very uncertain due to the inordinate delay.
