Kasargod: Five years after the formation of the Manjeshwar taluk, its office has not yet been built. As of now, the taluk office is operating in a rented building in Uppala.
The Manjeshwar taluk, formed back in 2014, on March 20, comprises eight gram panchayats and continues to be neglected. Even though it has been five years since the taluk’s formation, preliminary arrangements, like that of the office, have still not been carried out.
In the rented building, the taluk office is located on the second floor and has no proper infrastructure. People of the taluk even find it difficult to get to the office.
A location for a new office was identified, however, the construction was hindered for some reason.
While there are some who believe that Uppala is the best place for the taluk office and that the building is suitable for the eight panchayats, others differ.
These reasons could lead to further delays in the construction of a new office building.
