Fake voting in Kasargod, Cong demands inquiry

Kasargod: The Congress party has alleged that a large number of fake votes were cast in the CPM strongholds like Payyannur, Trikkarippur and Kalyasheri polling booths in the Lok Sabha elections and visuals of fake voting have come out.

In Pilathara UP school polling booth a woman had cast her vote as voter number 774. This happened in front of the polling officer.

She erased the indelible ink put on her finger immediately by rubbing it on her hair. Then she again went to Cheruthazham panchayath and cast her vote as voter number 19. Her act was caught on the camera.

Around six such incidents of fake voting were caught on the camera. Another woman waited in the queue for one hour to cast her vote only to realize that her vote was already cast by someone else. She waited in the polling booth for some time wanting to cast her vote but returned without voting.

A political party leader was seen standing inside a polling booth in Kasargod.

In more than a hundred polling booths more than 90 per cent polling was done. In few polling booths 99 per cent polling was done which lead to doubt about fake voting. Now that many visuals have come about fake voting the Congress party has insisted on conducting an inquiry.
