Hubballi: Hindustani vocalist Pt. Venkatesh Kumar will be conferred with the Gangubai Hangal Rashtriya Puraskar during the two-day 10th Gangubai Hangal Sangeet Mahotsav being orgainsed by Kala Dharohar at the Samskrutika Bhavan at New Cotton Market here on October 28 and 29.
Kala Dharohar has been organising music concerts to promote classical music in Hubballi.
On the first day of the Sangeet Mahotsav, vocalist from Mumbai Gauri Parthare and flute exponent from Mumbai Ronu Majumdar will give a performance. The concert will begin at 5.30 p.m. on October 28, according to a release.
On the second day, vocalist from Pune Sawani Shende will give a concert at 9 a.m. and sitar exponent Purbayan Chatterjee will give a performance at 5 p.m.
The award will be conferred on Pt. Venkatesh Kumar on the October 29. Subsequently, Pt. Venkatesh Kumar will render a vocal concert, the release said.
Musicians Sridhar Mandre, Uday Kulkarni and Ojas Adhiya (tabla) and Vyasmurti Katti (harmonium) will be accompanying main artistes in the concerts.
