Hubballi: Following the footsteps of Bengaluru and Mysuru, the twin cities Hubbali-Dharwad now have a mobile command centre to help in the surveillance of the area during large events and VIP visits.

The mobile command centre was inaugurated by State Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on January 5. Commenting on the command centre, the home minister likened it to a thousand eyes.

The command centre has a total of 19 cameras including four around mobile unit, four jacket cameras and one drone camera.

A trained official at the command centre said that a mobile unit could effectively do over 50 policemen’s work in the field. Keeping an eye on anti-social elements and other miscreants will be easier during the events that draw large crowds.
