Hubballi: The Samaja Parivartana Samudaya (SPS) Founder President S R Hiremath has accused Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi of trying to mislead the media through his advocate by providing false information in the defamation case filed against him (Hiremath).
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Hiremath referred to the statement issued by advocate Arun Joshi in which it is said that the First Principal Judge and Principal Judicial Magistrate First Class had imposed a fine of Rs 500 in the defamation case filed by Pralhad Joshi against Hiremath.
Court order
Hiremath who released copies of the court order, pointed out that the court had dismissed his application under Section 91 of CrPC seeking original copy of the inquiry report by the Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad on the proposed sports and recreation club at Deshpande Nagar in Hubballi and the court had directed him to pay Rs 500 as costs to the court.
“It is definitely not a penalty,” he said and added that they had not yet decided on going for an appeal on the issue.
Hiremath also clarified that the hearing was still in the preliminary stage in the defamation case and Pralhad Joshi should stop twisting facts for cheap publicity.
