Several houses robbed on Christmas eve in Hubballi

Hubballi: Series of theft cases have been reported under Keshwapur Police Station limits in the city on Saturday night. According to police seasoned thieves who targeted locked houses made away with valuables worth lakhs of rupees when the inmates were away for offering prayers at Churches on the eve of Christmas.

The three theft cases have been reported from Walvekar plot, Chetana colony and Brundavan colony.

Thieves entered the house of one Sarojini Gerald Fernandes at Walvekar Plot in Keshwapur when the family members had been to attend the mass prayer in the church in view of the Christmas. Gold ornaments weighing 55 grams, one wrist watch worth Rs. 7,000 and currency notes worth Rs. 11,000 were stolen from the house.

A complaint has been filed with Keshwapur police in this regard.

At Chetana colony in Keswapur the thieves broke open the lock of the house of one Ronald Komyatoti and made away with Rs. 11,000 and gold ornaments weighing 90 grams.

On the same night the house of William Devadas Motokuri was burgled at Brundavan Colony on Gadag Road. Thieves entered the house after the inmates left for the Church for Christmas prayers. They broke open the main door and took away Rs. 70,000, 95 grams of gold ornaments and 80 gram silver ornaments, according to a complaint.
