Hubballi: The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Hubballi, a global network of Entrepreneurs, will organise a seminar for entrepreneurs who are into food processing in city on November 24.
TiE Hubli President Sandeep Bidasaria informed media that it was for the first time that a seminar on agriculture and allied sectors is being held in Hubballi.
The prime objective of the seminar is to focus more on tapping the potential in the food processing sector and agriculture-based industries in this part of the state.
The seminar also aims to highlight the connect between farmers and firms/start-ups via technology intervention and the government’s impetus for inclusive growth of the state, he said.
Entrepreneurs of North Karnataka carry a huge optimism about agriculture sector, a Hubballi-based food and vegetable distribution company received multiple rounds of venture funding, a millet producing firm has been set up by an entrepreneur who quit a high paying job. There are a few firms exporting frozen vegetables to foreign countries and a few others trading in agri products with turnover running into hundreds of crores, he said.
Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda will deliver a talk on “Quantum leap-agri and agri tech”, the minister will also launch TiECON, Hubli 2018. The event will be held at 6 PM, he added.
