Hubballi: While the whole state was keenly following the voting trends across the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies which went to polls on Thursday, April 18, a watermelon grower dumped six tons of his produce on the road. The frustrated man justified his actions saying he was not offered a sufficient price and there wasn’t much demand. The incident was reported from Channamma circle of the city.

Muttanna Thota Ganti, a farmer from Rona is the man who threw the watermelon to the city road.

Ganti had brought a tractor-load of watermelon to sell at the APMC market in the city, but seeing the poor quality of the produce, the middlemen did not but them. An upset Ganti distributed a few watermelons for free, threw the remaining on the road and left for his home town.

“He threw around six tons of watermelon on the road,” said stunned eyewitnesses.
