Hubbali: Sitting MP and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency, Pralhad Joshi taunted All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) president here on Tuesday, April 23 stating that the Supreme Court seeking an explanation from Rahul Gandhi over his comments on the Rafale Deal verdict was a tight slap for him. Rahul Gandhi had ridiculed Prime Minister Narendra Modi citing the Rafale verdict that the apex court too had agreed that, “Chowkidar hi chor hai (The guard himself is the thief).”

After voting along with his family, he addressed the media and said that it was a tight slap on the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi’s face by the apex court for spreading false information on the Rafale fighter jet deal verdict.

He criticised the Congress party leaders and said that they were liars and had not learnt any lesson in 60 years of their regime.

Observing the rise in voters’ turnout, Joshi opined that people would support Prime Minister Narendra Modi yet again and that the BJP would win over 20 Lok Sabha seats out of 28 in the state.

‘We will win over 22 LS seats’

MLA Jagadish Shettar, after voting along with his family, said that in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in the state, out of 14 seats they would win 10 and in the second phase they would win 12 out of 14, which would sum upto 22 seats.

Meanwhile, he opined that the electorate would vote for the candidate based on their achievements.
