Hubballi: Six persons were killed on the spot while 10 sustained serious injuries when a truck rammed from the rear side, into a private bus plying from Bengaluru to Mumbai, on Saturday, November 17 at 11 AM.
The incident is reported from Annigeri on National Highway 43. The bus was ferrying same family members who had been to Bengaluru to attend a relative’s wedding event.
According to the police, the deceased are identified as Vishwanath (76), Dinakar (74), Ramesh Jaipal (70), Sumedh (65), Lahu (65) and Suchitra (65). The injured were rushed to the KIMS hospital here.
Police suspect over speeding as the cause of accident. “We have informed the relatives of the deceased who are in Mumbai. Investigation is on,” said the police.
