Hubballi: The renovation of the Vijayapura railway station and extension of Dharwad-Mysuru Express train to Belagavi were some of the issues raised during the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting in Hubballi.
During the 31st DRUCC meeting chaired by Divisional Railway Manager of Hubballi Division of South Western Railway (SWR) Arun Kumar Jain, the members raised several issues and sought solutions from authorities.
They also sought steps to encourage cashless transactions in railways, construction of underpass on Toranagallu-Gadiganuru Road, providing additional seating arrangements for passengers at Vasco railway station, apart from putting forward various suggestions on improving the amenities for passengers.
In all, 23 members representing passengers’ associations, chambers of commerce and industries, trade associations and others took part.
DRM Jain said various initiatives had been taken by the division to improve the amenities and infrastructure. He also briefed them about the progress achieved by the division in various sectors during the current fiscal.
