Hubbali: In a rather bizarre incident, a person named Basappa Tulasappa Talwara, resident of Kondikoppa village, received an electricity bill even though his house has been without electricity for months.

Basappa, who got an electricity connection under the “Soubhagya” scheme of the Central Government, had no power in his house. However, he still received a bill from the Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM) for Rs 211, shocking him and his family.

According to reports, even though Basappa brought this to the notice of the HESCOM officials, they have not taken any counter measures.

As per the “Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana” or the “Soubhagya” scheme, the beneficiaries are suppsed to get 40 units of electricity every month for free.
