Hubballi: A sense of tension prevailed outside Hubballi JMF court when three Kashmiri students facing sedition charges were produced before the Court on Monday.
Talib Majid, Amir Wani and Bhashit Sofi, the three students hailing from Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir were arrested here on Saturday on charges of sedition, after a video of the trio raising pro-Pakistan slogans went viral.
They are the civil engineering students of KLE Institute of Technology, located on Gokul Road in Hubballi and the trio was said to be celebrating the Pulwama terror attack, hailing Pakistan.
When the three arrived at the court premises, some miscreants shouted out ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and Vande Mataram slogans and on their return from the court, a few miscreants pelted stones and also hurled footwear at the trio.
Stones were pelted even at the police vehicle.
The Court has remanded the accused to14 days judicial custody. The three have sought time from the court to appoint an advocate to represent them.
