Hubballi: Former minister and MLC Basavaraj Horatti who had enraged a section of farmers with his ‘jeans pant remarks’ has apologised.
Horatti on Sunday had said that he was really concerned about the farmers and so tried to draw the attention of the government. “I had appealed to the government to keep an eye on ‘jeans pant farmers’ (non-farmers), who are trying to weaken farmers’ movement. But some people misconstrued my statement to gain political mileage out of it,” he said.
The JD(S) leader said that he was farmer himself and know what problems the farmers would be facing. The farmers should be remembered and thanked for their hardwork. “I offer my apology to farmers if my statement hurt them,” he added.
