Hubballi: Residents of a village in the Hubballi taluk provided a rare glimpse of communal harmony when they celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi and observed Muharram at the same location.
Both Hindus and Muslims gathered at the same “pandal” to observe the two festivals on Tuesday, September 10.
Mohammed Sham, a village local, informed ANI that the arrangements were made in an attempt to send a message of communal harmony.
“We want to send a message of communal harmony, which is very important at this point in time,” he added.
Another local said, “There are around 4,000 people in this village and we all live in harmony. Here, the communities work together as one.”
The locals further said that Hindus and Muslims of the village routinely celebrate festivals of both communities together, such as Holi, Diwali, Eid etc.
