Hubballi: Folk paintings now adorn the walls of the subway and other places at the Hubballi railway station. The paintings include those of Madhubani and Warli.

The murals, part of the beautification drive, depict the Karnataka’s rich culture.

The majority of the murals have been painted by Hubballi’s own Sumangala Bhat. Hareesh V Mallappanavar, an artist from the Byadgi village of the Haveri district was also hired to paint the murals.

Seeing that the railway station receives a lot of passengers and this number is rising, the authorities decided that it was high time for them to beautify the place as the walls were riddled with unsightly torn posters and bills.
