Hubballi: The state government is taking steps to provide healthcare facilities at the district level, including steps to provide emergency healthcare services round the clock, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Speaking after inaugurating the World Congress of Anatomists and the 19th Karnataka Chapter of Anatomists Conference in Gadag, he said the government would take steps to improve mortuary cold storage facilities to help medical college hospitals and district hospitals to preserve the bodies donated.
He also mentioned the contribution of India to the field of medical sciences and referred to Sushruta’s work.
Minster for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj H K Patil appealed to the chief minister to sanction a super-speciality hospital to Gadag to cater to the healthcare needs of the people in the region.
The first vice chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) S Kantha was felicitated on the occasion. President of the World Congress of Anatomists and Director of GIMS P S Bhusaraddi and a host of anatomists, senior officials from the Department of Health and Family Welfare were present.
