Hubbali: An elderly woman was drugged and looted by an autorickshaw driver and his abet at Giriyal Road here on Thursday July 23.
The victim has been identified Fatima Abdul Rehman Shaikh (75). She was allegedly robbed of her jewellery worth Rs 1.12 lakh and a mobile phone by an autorickshaw driver named Raju and his associate.
Reportedly, he made Fatima unconscious and then robbed her jewellery before abandoning her in the outskirts of the city.
Raju is said to be known to Fatima since a few months and had taken her to KIMS hospital for treatment a couple of times in the past.
On regaining consciousness, Fatima sought help from employees of a nearby factory. Kasabapet police inspector Maruti Gullari said that search is on for Raju and his associate.
