Hubbali: Sandalwood actor Upendra with his agenda of a better society and good governance, has announced that his party Uttama Prajakiya Party would contest from all the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the general elections, here on Saturday, February 2.
Addressing a press meet, Upendra said that the party was supposed to contest the 2018 Assembly elections, but due to some reason it couldn’t.
He specified that the party would go for the polls with five point agenda–corruption, selection, election, rejection and promotion.
Upendra explained that the party manifesto will be of two types, one being citizens of the state opting for their party based on the agenda and another, the candidate selection by the public.
He also spoke about the technological hindrances though everything is digital.
Upendra criticised the political leaders for using papers despite availability of PowerPoint presentations and making it live to the public.
He opined that appointing a candidate for each of the organisations politically was not the right way and claimed that in order to change this trend, Uttama Prajakiya Party was brought into action.
“Currently, 15 to 16 candidates are chosen and rest will be chosen soon. We’ll not go by caste and money power”, he said.
Upendra said, "Uttama Prajakiya Party is peoples’ party."
