Hubballi: Former minister Sriramulu’s statement that Minister for Municipal Administration CS Shivalli died due to the Congress has stirred controversy. Minister for Irrigation DK Shivakumar has said that they have filed a complaint with the Election Commission in this regard.
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, DKShi said that it was unbecoming of Sriramulu to make such a statement and hence they have brought the issue to the notice of the EC.
Responding to the statement by BJP State chief BS Yeddyurappa that corruption money is being utilised to fight the polls, DKShi said that the ones making such allegations must put up the pieces of evidence if they have any so that the Election Commission can investigate the same.
Terming the Kundagola polls to be a fight between and the rich and the poor, he said that BJP candidate Chikkangaudar has been troubling the people because he had fetched fewer votes during the last election. “They are threatening the voters and also arm twisting them. But, we are going to people with folded hands, seeking votes. If BS Yeddyurappa had a vote here, we would have approached even him with folded hands,” said DKShi.
Even former minister Santhosh Lad had expressed his anger over the statement of Sriramulu about Shivalli’s death.
