Hubballi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths arrested Rajanagara Kendriya Vidyalaya Principal Siddarudha Metre for demanding Rs 50,000 as a bribe to admit a child to the school.
According to sources, Basavaraja Sannapoojara was transferred from another town to Hubballi recently and he met the principal of the school, requesting a lateral admission to his son for the 4th Standard who was studying at another Kendriya Vidyalaya. Meanwhile, Siddarudha Metre demanded a hefty amount as bribe to admit the child.
Basavaraj decided to teach a lesson to the principal and complained to the CBI regarding the issue. The bureau promptly registered the complaint and CBI officials from Bengaluru arrested Siddarudha Metre on Sunday and took him to Bengaluru for further investigation.
Now, it has come to the light that the arrested principal had demanded bribes from many other parents as well.
