Hubbali: As the Karnataka by-polls are inching closer, preparations in the Bharatiya Janata Party are at full swing. The by-polls in 15 assembly constituencies will be held on December 5 and the party has decided to appoint assembly in-charge.
In a party meeting held on Saturday, October 26, under the leadership of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, several decision relating to by-polls were taken.
Addressing the party workers and leaders Nalin said, “It’s time to work in unity and strengthen the party in the assembly constituencies where by-polls will be held. We shall see to it that the candidates chosen by the party’s high command emerge victorious.”
He said that by November 4 the appointed assembly in-charges of the 15 assembly constituencies would conduct meetings in their respective constituencies and would collect ground report.
CM BSY said, “The party will take everybody into confidence, including the disqualified MLAs and make decisions. The disqualified MLAs and other ticket aspirants will be called for a meeting, once the Supreme Court gives its verdict on the MLA disqualification row.”
All the leaders reportedly agreed BSY and said that if the disqualified MLAs would like to join the party, they are welcomed.
