Tantalizing must-have Independence Day recipes

Tiranga Curry Rice 

Pay an ode to independence and freedom with this Tiranga Curry Rice recipe. This simple yet mouth-watering recipe works with fussy kids too. Pump-up everybodys excitement level.

Recipie:

Ingredients

1. Paneer (150 grams)

2. Tomatoes (3 medium)

3. Cashew nuts (1/4 cup)

4. Melon seeds (2 tablespoons)

5. Poppy seeds (1 teaspoon)

6. Ginger,chopped (1 teaspoon)

7. Green cardamoms (2)

8. Red chilli powder (1 teaspoon)

9. Salt to taste

10. Oil 1 tablespoon for deep-frying

11. Yogurt (1/4 cup)

12. Green cardamom powder (1/4 teaspoon)

13. Refined flour (2 teaspoons)

14. Fresh cream (2 tablespoons)

15. Garam masala powder (1/4 teaspoon)

Method:

1. Put chopped tomatoes, cashew nuts, melon seeds, poppy seeds, ginger, green cardamoms, red chilli powder, yogurt, salt and one tablespoon oil in a pressure cooker and mix well. 

2. Add one cup water and close the cooker with the lid. Cook under pressure till four whistles. 

3. Put oil in a pan and add green cardamom powder, salt, flour and mix well. 

4. Take circular portions of the mixture (koftas) and deep fry it till golden.

5. Open the lid of the cooker and blend the mixture with a hand blender. 

6. Put the mixture and pour into another non-stick pan and heat. Add a little cream and garam masala powder and mix. 

7. Arrange the deep friend koftas in a serving bowl, pour the gravy over, drizzle a little cream and serve immediately.

8. Serve it hot with steamed rice.

Colourful Fruit Skewers

Fruit Skewers are healthy and tasty. No better way to celebrate I-Day. This easy to make recipe is an absolute delight. We bring you a unique connotation to make this day all the more special.

Recipe: 

Ingredients

1. 50 Strawberries

2. 50 Pieces of cantaloupe or mandarin oranges

3. 50 Pieces pineapple, canned

4. 50 Pieces of kiwi fruit or honeydew melon

5. 100 blueberries

6. 50 bamboo or other disposable plastic skewers

Method:

1. Use sharpened bamboo or wooden skewers. 

2. Cut fruits into square shapes. 

3. Skewer strawberry first, then cantaloupe or orange, followed by pineapple and kiwi fruit or honeywdew melon.

4. Put two blueberries on the pointed end.

5. Make sure to fix them well, so they do not slip off.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Nothing can beat a classic recipe like a macaroni salad. If you want to spend a lazy day at home with just close friends around, this is the best bet. You will be done in no time and yet have a memorable time unwinding.

Recipe:

Ingredients

1. Macaroni (boiled) (120 gram) 

2. Red kidney beans (boiled) (50 gram) 

3. Corn Kernels (50 gram) 

4. Tomato (seedless) (20 gram) 

5. Sliced onion (30 gram) 

6. Bell pepper (45 gram) 

7. Coriander leaves (chopped) (20 gram) 

8. Tomato ketchup (30 gram) 

9. Mayonnaise (40 gram) 

10. Pinch of Salt 

11. Lime Juice (as required) 

12. Oregano (5 gram) 

13. Chopped green chilli (5 gram)

Method:

1. Take a steel bowl and put all the ingredients (except mayonnaise, lime juice and tomato ketchup) and mix it gently.

2. When mixed properly, fold it into mayonnaise, lime juice and tomato ketchup.

3. Put it in a salad bowl and garnish it with tomato and coriander leaf and serve it cold.
