Yes, according to the recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Hong Kong, it has come to light that working in night shifts will increase the risk in DNA break, inturn elevating risks of cardiovascular, neurodegenerative and metabolic-related diseases.
The most devastating information revealed is, sleep deprivation can lead to cancer.
The researchers had taken 49 blood samples in which one group was deprived of sleep for one night and the other was made to have a sound sleep.
The study revealed that the group which was deprived of sleep had a DNA break, and those who had sound sleep were found healthy.
This was proven by Siu-Wai-Choi of Hong Kong University.
