Hassan: Under the pretext of holding "Sadhana Samavesha" conventions across the state, the state government has spent Rs 1350 Crore of public money for publicity, alleged Janata Dal (Secular) Supremo H D Devegowda.
The money invested on publicity campaign will not yield desired results, said the former prime minister, speaking to reporters here January 11.
About 20 innocent people have sacrificed their lives to boost the ego of two national parties in contention, said Gowda and asked, "Does this prove the development agenda?"
“As prime minister and chief minister, I never made any effort to bring about religious divide”, Devegowda asserted.
The chief minister is using public money for publicity and is under the false notion that the money spent will yield votes, said Gowda. The chief minister should desist from such tactics and instead should be more responsible, he stated.
The state government is misusing media to achieve its goals but people will teach a lesson at the right time, said Devegowda sounding confident of excellent performance by JDS in the forthcoming elections to prove all critics wrong.
People are not fools and are watching every action of the government from the sidelines including the huge amount of loans taken, said Devegowda.
