Hassan: H D Revanna, Minister for Public Works on Saturday, September,1 said that the Shiradi Ghat road will be opened within 10 days for light vehicles.
Shiradi Ghat remained closed during the entire summer season this year for repairs and now the road has been closed again because of heavy rains after briefly opening it for traffic.
“I have already spoken to the authorities, As the roads were destroyed due to heavy rain, repair works are in progress. After the approval by deputy commissioners of Dakshina Kannada and Hassan districts, small vehicles will be permitted to use Shiradi Ghat”, he said.
KSRTC and Volvo buses will also be allowed to continue their operations through Shiradi Ghat road after approval by the authorities.
