Hassan: Police have registered a case in connection with the alleged IT raids on the residence of Prakash Bhat, priest of the Haradanahalli Shiva temple, and the temple premises on Friday.

Although the IT authorities have denied that the raid even occurred, the temple priest lodged a complaint at the Holenarasipura police station. The Hassan district police have now launched an investigation in this regard.

In his complaint, Bhat alleged that six persons claiming to be IT officials arrived in two SUVs and searched the temple premises and his residence on Friday noon.

It can be recalled that the temple that was allegedly raided, is frequented by JDS supremo H D Devegowda and his family. This incident has led to a war of words between the JDS and BJP leaders in the state. But after the IT authorities clarified that their team didn’t visit the village, police are trying to find out who was behind the alleged raids.
