Hassan: A tanker carrying LPG sprung a large leak in Sakleshpur on Tuesday, October 15.

The tanker, which was travelling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, developed damage in one of the bolts connected to the LPG valve.

This incident occurred on the national highway where the Karnataka Electric Board office and several academic centres are located, causing panic among the locals.

Fire fighters rushed to the spot and began sprinkling large amounts of water in order to avoid any untoward incidents.

As a precautionary measure, the nearby colleges and offices were dismissed. Vehicular movement on the road was also completely brought to a halt and alternate arrangements were made.
