KSRTC to operate 175 special buses for Masthakabhisheka

Hassan: In view of the Gommateshwara Mahamasthakabhisheka Mahotsava, KSRTC will operate 175 special buses from Sunday, February 11 in order to facilitate hassle-free travel for the thousands of tourists visiting Shravanabelagola from various places.

These special buses will ply to Shravanabelagola from various cities and district headquarters including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi, and Dharwad. Further the corporation has also started service of 60 mini-buses (30 seats) from Shravanabelagola town and sub-urban, Hassan and from Shravanabelagola railway station.

KSRTC also provides buses on an agreement for rent or on daily-basis to Hassan, Mysuru, Ranganatittu, Belooru- Halebeedu, Dharmasthala, Moodabidri, Venoor, Karkala, Shrirangapattana, Talakadu, Nagarahole other various tourist spots, Jain Basadis of neighboring districts.

For usual buses, within the state, the charge would be Rs.34 per kilometer, for inter-state it is Rs.37 per kilometer, for 46-seat Iravata Club Class buses, the charge would be Rs.70/km within the state and Rs.77/km for inter-state. For Karnataka Sarige it is 300 km minimum per day and for Iravata Club Class buses should travel at least 500 km per day.

To guide tourists and pilgrims in Shravanabelagola, a 24X7 information centre has been opened and staff has been appointed.

Moreover, KSRTC has printed 10,000 handbooks of tourist places in the state and their historical importance. The corporation is distributing the handbook to the pilgrims who come to Shravanabelagola.
