Hassan: Parents with the help of Ambedkar Youth Organisation members protested in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding justice into the incident in which a newborn was stolen from District Hospital”s Paediatric Ward by an unknown woman disguised as nurse.
They accused the hospital staff of negligence and demanded their suspension. They also sought action against the CCTV supplier for supplying low quality equipment. The CCTV footage is unable to throw any light into the incident which occurred during broad day light.
The protestors feared the involvement of child lifters’ mafia with such incidents recurring at regular intervals and urged the administration to trace the missing baby
It may be recalled, Madevi, a resident of Kushalanagar in Sakaleshpur Taluk had delivered a baby at the district hospital on December 4. An unknown woman in nurse’s disguise had taken the baby under the pretext of subjecting the new born to a blood test during broad day light.
