Holenarasipur: An 18-month-old baby developed complications and died minutes after being given polio drops as part of the nationwide campaign in Anekannambadi village near Hallimysuru on Sunday.
The parents of the child alleged that the death was caused due to the vaccination. Health Department officials, however, insisted that the death was not caused by polio immunisation.
According to Taluk Health Officer Dr Rajesh there was no chance that the baby would have died due to Polio immunization. He said that nearly 145 children were administered polio drops at Anekannambadi and all of them were fine.
Paediatrician Dr Prashanth and Deputy Superintendent of Police K?Arun, too, visited the village.
