Hassan: The Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) medicos protested in the institute premises demanding protection for doctors on January 2, after few cases of assault on duty doctors.
They protested in front of Director Dr. Ravi Kumar’s office first, who tried to resolve the issue but the negotiations failed to bear fruit.
Medicos accused the management of neglecting their interests in providing adequate security and expressed their inability to work in situations where they face threats and assaults on a regular basis,
Except emergency ward none of the other sections were functioning during the protests. Senior doctors too were not found in wards and some junior doctors were seen attending to few patients on humanitarian grounds.
As usual patients had to bear the brunt of protests for no fault of theirs.
