Hassan: Hassan Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri Dasari on Friday moved the High Court of Karnataka challenging the order of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), which had asked her to give representation to the Chief Secretary against transferring from the post.

It has been contended in the petition that she has been subjected to repeated, unscheduled and premature transfers contrary to the provisions of the Indian Administrative Services (Cadre) Amendment Rules, 2014, which were framed on the directions given by the apex court. Saying that cadre posts of IAS have a fixed tenure of two years as per the rules, it has been alleged in the petition that attempts to transfer her as Hassan Deputy Commissioner was made as she had “cracked down on mining mafia and such action had enraged the local politicians who carried a tirade against her to the Chief Minister, who, succumbing to the political pressure and for the aggrandizement of the party in power, directed such a transfer …”

It has been pointed out in the petition that many IAS officers, who were staying long in a particular post, were spared from being transferred.
