Hassan: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was forced to travel by road to Bengaluru on Saturday, October 27, after he missed a scheduled commercial helicopter flight from Shravanabelagola. He was in Mandya’s Krishnarajpet, campaigning for party candidate L R Shivarame Gowda for the upcoming by-polls.

The CM was scheduled to board the helicopter at 5.15 PM, however, the chopper waited till 5.30 PM as per the officials’ request. As visibility beyond 5.30 PM is reduced due to less light, the chopper had departed by the time the CM arrived at 5.50 PM. Having no other choice, HDK travelled back to Bengaluru by car.

A source said that if the CM had arrived in time for the flight, he would have reached Bengaluru in 30 minutes instead of travelling for hours by road.
