Hassan: In yet another shocker, a four-year-old was allegedly molested by the school Physical Education teacher at a government school in a village in Arkalgud taluk here on Tuesday, November 17.
According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, the victim, a class five student at the Government Primary School was sexually abused by her PE teacher Srinivas.
As other teachers were on leave on Tuesday, Srinivas was handling the classes alone. Around 3.30pm, he summoned the girl to the library on some pretext and molested her, said the complaint.
The girl looked dull when she returned home that evening. She refused to go to school the next morning and started crying. She informed the family members of the assault. The parents, along with few villagers, went to the school to question Srinivas.
Speaking to News Karnataka, Circle Inspector, Suresh B said that the accused has been produced before the magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.
“The teacher was suspended once earlier, on a similar case. A warning had been given to him and he had been let off. The medical checkup of the 11-year-old-girl has been conducted and we are awaiting the report from the Hassan Government Hospital which is expected to come in a day or two.”
BEO, Nagesh informed News Karnataka that the teacher had been suspended and they were waiting for the medical report to initiate further action. An official warning had previously been given to the teacher when the department received similar complaint against him four years ago.
