Sakleshpur: A child rape accused who was absconding after the incident was nabbed by Sakleshpur Rural Police on December 15.
In a heart rending incident, a four-year old child was raped by an estate labourer of Assam origin, Brija Prastha (35) on the night of December 14.
The incident took place in Kadumane Estate of Sakleshpura taluk when the accused sexually assaulted the child residing in the neighborhood. When the child started crying, neighbours rushed to its aid but the accused escaped in the cover of darkness.
Medical tests conducted on the ailing child in the Government hospital confirmed rape charges.
Parents of the child had registered a complaint with the rural police station soon after the incident. Police cast their net to nab the accused and finally succeeded in apprehending him on November 15.
A case has been registered at the Sakleshpur rural police station.
