Hassan : BJP workers staged a protest in front of the DC office here on November 28, Thursday condemning the government attitude towards the recent suicide of a farmer during an agitation by sugarcane growers in front of the Suvarna Saudha at Belgaum where the winter session of the assembly was underway.
The protestors earlier took out a procession from the BJP office at NR Circle to the DC office shouting slogans against the government. They also blamed the government for the suicide of the farmer.
The agitators further accused the government of failing to respond to the demands of the growers who have been protesting even prior to the commencement of the assembly session and urged the government to heed to the demands of the growers.
The agitating BJP workers later submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Anbu Kumar enlisting their various demands including fulfillment of the demands of the farmers and to reduce the fee for land survey and RTC of farm lands.
Renu Kumar, District President of BJP, GM Chandrashekhar, Raitha Morcha District President and others took part in the protest.
