Hassan: The Bharatiya Janata Party District President H Yoga Ramesh ridiculed former MLA from the Congress party A Manju comparing him to ‘rotten rice’, here on Tuesday, March 12.
Addressing a press meet, he said that when a person was not useful in one’s own party then in which other party he would be.
He was responding to queries regarding possibilities of A Manju’s joining the BJP.
Yoga Ramesh said, “Manju is a rejected leader from the Congress and some of the BJP leaders are not ready to accept him in the party. However, our party welcomes everyone wholeheartedly and it is our duty to make sure that a candidate selected by the party’s high command wins.”
Meanwhile, he also opined that Manju’s statements like he would support the Janata Dal (S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda if he contested for Lok Sabha polls would damage the party's image.
He said, “If someone has to be awarded a PhD degree, it is Manju”, citing the latter's election track record.
"Manju had contested from BJP and had left the party after winning. Later, he went to Congress, won and became a minister", he added.
Yoga Ramesh said, “If he had genuinely received blessings from the people, then he would have won in the elections.”
He also opined that it would not be a good move to have him in the party.
